With all the activities by the PAP seem like GE is going to happen any time soon.

Realise I have not been blogging for almost  a year now but GE is always a good reason to start again... haha so watch this place for my comments of GE2015!

They never learn

Election period is an exciting time in Singapore, too bad it comes only once every 5 years.

During these times you suddenly see the incumbent becoming humble.

They start to walk the ground, Ministers, DPM and event the PM himself! (I never see my Minister MP during non-election period except when he was invited for some free dinner parties by the CC).

The incumbent also suddenly give out goodies and also start apologising to Singaporean for their failed policies and ask us to vote them in again so they are correct it.

I got to say with social media, more unbiased reports are available to the public and I think PAP themselves know they can’t really control the media anymore. In another words they cannot censored what we see and hear.

Also during this period suddenly the IQ of Ministers somehow dropped drastically.

The things they say when they try to counter the opposition somehow don’t really make sense and they do sound stupid at times.

Now everyone, be it the incumbent or the opposition parties, are being shown to the publics and Singaporean can choose for themselves who they want to believe in.

This is good for the democracy of Singapore.

So my advice to the PAP is to do your job sincerely, don’t bullshit us and the people will definitely see for themselves and vote for you if you are the best candidates.

They should abolished the GRC system so every man and woman no matter which political parties they are responsible for his or her own votes and are voted in by his/her own merits.

Instead the PAP starts to do weird stuff to shoot themselves in the foot for what reason I do not know.

After GE2011 when the lost Aljunied GRC, they start taking away the management of some public facility from the town council and gave them to the People Association which is chaired by the PM himself.

They penalised constituencies that voted against them by putting them last in upgrading and the removal of amenities.

The PAP still failed to realised that old method cannot be used to pacify new voters.

All we asked for is a fair and just government which treat us sincerely so Singapore can be a wonderful place to live in.

Until the PAP change I can assure you they will be loosing vote.

The more the speak the more stupid they sound.

I listen to the WP rally over the weekend via youtube and I did tried to do the same for the PAP one so I see for myself how different the views of this two parties are but 4min into Desmond’s speech nearly killed me so I have so stop.

I have to resort to summary by our press and luckily I did not listen to Chee Hein nor Denis Phua’s speech cause I am sure they will send me straight to hell.

I can’t believe how dumb and brainless the PAP camp can be and the argument they put up is really what I call jaw dropping.

I still think the more rally they host the more vote they will lose, look like they still think we are in the 80s where there is no social medias and people have to be informed with censor informations.

Even people like me can easily find flaws in PAP’s rally.

I say: Why Mah Bow Tan and Wong Kang Seng which were PAP best men for Ministers job lost their post after GE 2011? At that time it was only a nominated MP post avail for WP as the loser with the highest vote. So does it matter who they send it then? In the first place the GRC system is flaw as the PAP has no balls to let each men stand for election base on his or her own merits.

I say: So where Desmond get his money from? The government? PA? If so why only give tax payer money to a PAP grass root advisor while the elected opposition MP are not given these public funds? Why penalised tax paying Singaporean from their own money just because they voted for a different political party? National issue is not a political issue my dear PAP.

I say: Can Desmond voted against his party? Will he be free from the party whip? If he is an individual voice then stand as an independent candidate Desmond.

Why we need Opposition in Singapore

A year after the GE 2010 and now Hougang is fuelling the sentiment of Singaporean again.

If you asked yourself, did you life got better or worst after PAP re-took Singapore in 2010 I am sure most of us know the sad truth.

Even with a new President life in Singapore for the ordinary folks had gone from bad to worst.

Inflation, record COE, MRT breaking down, influx of foreigners, increase utilities price etc etc.

Why things are not getting better? Although Hsien Loong asked for some time but a year is not a short so why are things not improving?

I think the reason is simple, the PAP has lost touch with the ground, they are prioritising on the wrong issues.

Most of the time they are busy making life good for the rich and not the poor, whether they are doing it on purpose or not I do not know.

I personally had met people from PAP and the opposition although they are all friendly but there always seem to be a barrier when I talked to the PAP.

Everything is so robotic and efficient in the PAP camp that there is no personal warm at all.

Maybe it is all the protocol and procedure in the Party that made the PAP the way this way.

I met an incumbent Minister way back before he joined politics and he was sincere and talking to him was easy and he seem to understand “lesser motal” like us then.

These days when I read what he said on TV and in parliament, it sounds ridiculous and stupid at times.

So my dear Singaporean, do you think a millionaire can empathise with your problems?

Do you think he will know how you struggle to make ends meet everyday, how you squeezed into crowded public transport, how you queue 3 hours to see a doctor at the poly clinics, how you waited 3 months to see a specialist, how you have to work longer hours to pay off your HDB debt, how you dare not to work shorter hours as your boss is threatening to replace you with cheaper FT etc etc….

Ask yourself do you want a Yes Man as your MP or a ordinary guy who dare to speak up for you when things went wrong?

You may not see it in this few years but think for your children, think for them what kind of Singapore you want them to grow up to.

Hsein Loong's Cheap shot is making me sick

By-election a chance to elect reliable candidate: PM

Prime minister Lee Hsien Loong yesterday called on Hougang residents to make use of the by-election to elect a reliable and committed candidate to serve them well.

In a post on his Facebook page, which he started just over two weeks ago, Mr Lee wrote: "I encourage Hougang voters to use this opportunity wisely, to elect the best candidate with commitment and integrity: someone they can rely upon to express their hopes and concerns, address their needs, and make a real difference to their lives."


He explained that he had already made known his intentions, during Parliament, to call for a by- election in the single-member Hougang ward after it was left vacant in February. But he reiterated that "the Constitution does not require me to call a by-election within any fixed timeframe".


Mr Lee said he advised President Tony Tan Keng Yam yesterday morning to issue the Writ of Election, which he attached to his Facebook post.


In his post, Mr Lee wrote that the Workers' Party (WP) and former Member of Parliament (MP) for the ward, Mr Yaw Shin Leong, had "let down all those who voted for him".


In February, the party said it had expelled the beleaguered former MP from its ranks after he failed to come clean about his rumoured extramarital affairs.


In a strongly worded statement issued at that time, the WP added that Mr Yaw had "broken the faith, trust and expectations of the party and people".


He was reported to have left the country a day after he was expelled.


Last Saturday, The Straits Times reported that he and his wife were in Hanoi.


But Mr Lee said yesterday that the WP "has not given Singaporeans a full and proper account of what happened, or why it acted in this way".


He added: "Mr Yaw himself has said nothing, either to explain or to apologise for his behaviour, and has reportedly left the country."


He noted that the WP had, initially, chosen to keep mum when the allegations surfaced.


"The WP first kept totally silent, then supported Mr Yaw, and then, three weeks later, suddenly expelled him from the party," he wrote.


"I hope these events will not distract us from focusing on our national priorities, and building an inclusive Singapore."


Mr Lee posted the note just before 4.30pm yesterday and, by 7pm last night, it had attracted 70 comments from netizens and was shared over 265 times.


Many of those who responded to his note welcomed the call for the by-election.


Netizen Benedict Jacob-Thambiah wrote: "As someone who lives within Aljunied GRC, I am tired of sharing MPs with the people from Hougang. Besides, the MPs for Aljunied weren't elected to speak for the people of Hougang in Parliament."


Aljunied GRC was also won by the WP last year.


Another netizen, Subramaniam Thirumeni, said: "This is a positive step in a new and fair political direction that our nation is hopefully embarking on."


Others, like Jmm Limm, questioned the timing of the by-election, saying that rumoured PAP candidate Desmond Choo had been given "enough time to make inroads into Hougang" as a result of the delay






Ah the excitement of the Election is coming again, good opportunity and a reminder to us how stupid, dumb and ridiculous the incumbent can be. A pity it is not a public holiday.



Hsien Loong lead the way to shows how ridiculous the People Action Party is.

He took this opportunity to take a cheap shot at WP (Maybe he is afraid?) reminding people how lousy the last MP was and it is not for the resident to choose someone a reliable guy from his camp.

That’s strange there are quire a few un-reliable guy from his camp now and some even became Minister and I am sure they did let down Singaporean not once but on quite a number of occasions. *Cough* Mas Selamat *Cough* MRT breakdown *Cough*Lesser Mortal *Cough* Mee siam mai Hum *Cough*


Hsien Loong went on babbling on how lousy WP is and hey for God’s sake can you be a gentlemen and make this election a fair and proper one and not going down the dirty path?

I dare Hsien Loong to relinquish his seat for Ang Mo Kio GRC and come and run in Hougang to see how popular he really is.


One on one a fair fight. Don’t see many Men In White have the balls to do it.

The value of a by-election

SINGAPORE: If Parliament eventually determines that the Hougang seat has been vacated with the expulsion of Mr Yaw Shin Leong from the Workers' Party (WP), the spotlight will shift to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Under the Parliamentary Elections Act, the President issues an election writ stipulating when a by-election is to be held. But it is the Prime Minister who so advises the President.

When asked last Wednesday, PM Lee said he would consider carefully "whether and when to hold a by-election in Hougang". This appears to suggest that a by-election need not be held in Hougang.

There is no obligation under the Constitution to hold a by-election within a specific time-frame. In 2008, PM Lee told Parliament that the timing of one "is the prerogative of the PM. He has full discretion and he is not obliged to call a by-election within any fixed timeline".

While the Prime Minister has the prerogative on the timing, I would argue that this does not extend to his having an unfettered discretion to delay the calling of a by-election indefinitely. In most instances, it has to be called within a reasonable time, or certainly without an inordinate delay. In short, the "default" position should be that a by-election should be automatic, although there is no hard and fast rule on the timing.

GOVT SHOULD STATE REASONS

There may be three reasons why a by-election may not be called. This could be when an MP switches political party, or when Parliament's term is coming to a close within the next 12 to 18 months, or if there is a national crisis. None of them is pertinent at this point in time.

By-elections have been called in the past even though the General Election had taken place recently. For instance, by-elections in 1967, 1968, 1977, 1981 and 1992 were called between six and 16 months prior to or after a General Election in 1968, 1976, 1980 and 1991.

Delaying the calling of a by-election to the point of not calling it would, in my view, not be in accord with the duty of due process. It would, arguably, constitute an exercise of discretion for which a legal challenge can be mounted. The fact that the Constitution is silent on when a by-election should be called does not mean one need not be called.

In any case, if the Government decides to delay or not to hold a by-election in Hougang, the Government should state its reasons.

In November 1987, the Government explained why a by-election was not conducted in both Anson and Geylang West: It was contemplating introducing a Bill to form town councils in which some boundaries might be re-delineated, including the vacated seats of Anson and Geylang West. (Eventually, the GE was held on Sept 3, 1988.)

STAND-IN MP NOT THE SAME

There are still more than four-and-a-half years to the life of the current Parliament. Hougang voters should not be deprived of having their elected representative in the House. Although the WP's five MPs in the adjacent Aljunied GRC can cover Hougang, that is not ideal. Let Hougang residents decide how they would like to hold the WP to account in light of the recent events.

PM Lee hinted at one consideration which he will take into account: "There are many other issues on the national agenda right now." Granted.

But will a by-election involving only about 25,000 voters be a massive distraction nationally?

Of course, some Hougang voters and Singaporeans generally may choose to view the by-election not just as a localised matter but a referendum on the PAP Government's performance since May 2011. This should not stand in the way of holding a by-election.

More importantly, the cardinal principle of representation is crucial: A stand-in MP is not the same as an MP for whom the majority had voted. Not calling a by-election would undermine the importance of representation in our maturing parliamentary democracy.

Our electoral system must endeavour to be inclusive and representative in tandem with the growing democratic aspirations. Doing so can only increase Singaporeans' civic participation and ownership of governmental processes.

SHOULD WP FIELD NCMP?

Assuming a by-election is called, should the WP field in Hougang one of its two NCMPs?

It appears that an NCMP need not vacate his seat to contest in a by-election. Article 46(2A) of the Constitution provides that an NCMP shall vacate his seat "if he is subsequently elected as a Member of Parliament for any constituency". However, the law is not so clear on whether a vacated NCMP seat has to be filled.

Given the legal uncertainty, it may work better for the WP to field a candidate who is not in Parliament. Moreover, this would enable the WP, should it prove victorious in Hougang, to maintain its full complement of eight representatives in Parliament.



If a MP seat is vacated no matter what the reason may be there should be a by Election.

To me it should be even for a GRC as the MP need to serve his or her ward in the constituency and it is simply not right to ask other MPs in the same GRC to cover.

Also MP need to vote in the parliament and one absent vote could change a result of a bill. (Although I don’t see this in the near future in Singapore parliament).

I guess the strategy for PAP is to delay the by-election in Hougang for as long as possible.

Why?

I think because they are also surprised that WP had sacked Yaw and PAP is not prepared for a by election in Hougang.

The last PAP candidate for Hougang, Desmond was probably aiming to run in 4 years time and it totally unprepared. Also PAP doesn’t want to lose more face by losing Hougang again within 6 months.

One less Opposition MP in parliament is good for the incumbent as well as there in one less voice and one less vote against them.

Therefore personally I don’t think the by election will be happening any time soon.

Half hearted effort

Lim Boon Heng 'to work on retaking Aljunied GRC'

The ruling party's fight to take back Aljunied GRC is on. To helm the task, it has roped in its former party chairman Lim Boon Heng.

Party sources told The Straits Times that Mr Lim, a former Cabinet minister and MP for Jurong GRC who left politics before the May General Election, has started recruiting People's Action Party (PAP) activists to join a task force to win the group representation constituency back from the Workers' Party.

He met a number of branch activists individually in October, said a source who was invited…….


If you ask me this is a half hearted attempt to “retake” Aljiunied GRC.

First they sending in cry baby Lim Boon Heng who to PAP is a expired Minister which has nothing to lose, lots of money and still a big ego that still need to be fanned.

If they are serious about taking back Aljunied why not let Lee Hsein Loong, Chan Chun Sing or Heng Seng Keat to lead the charge?

I don’t think PAP will want to risk losing another Minister which they are grooming.
In fact I don’t think anyone in the current cabinet is better then George and PAP will still fall no matter who they send to Aljunied during the 2011 GE.

In fact I am just curious which Minister will they send to re-take Aljunied? PAP has not lost a Minister in a GE before and whoever they sending there in 2016 will be risking his million dollar pay check.

So now Lim Boon Heng is working the ground, note PAP did not say he will be the one leading the team in Aljunied, but my guess it will most likely be him if he is still around.

If PAP still continue with their arrogant attitude and still choose to ignore the voices of ordinary Singaporean they will not only risk to lose Aljunied but other GRC in 2016.

Post Election thought.

Now election is over and although I am glad WP had capture Hougang and Aljunied. I am sad that other then this the rest of Singapore still belong to the MIW.

Even more angry that sub-standard people like MBT, WKS and TPL got elected and one of the better Minister around George Yeo has to go.

Even more angry that stupid MM start to talk cock.

Yeah yeah… go back to your era. We have the right to choose who we want in parliament.

I advice to you is please stopped! You already did George in and please don’t sabo your son.

I am also disappointed with those Singaporean that voted for the 3 clowns. Why they do that? I tried to figure it out but cannot.

The only 2 reasons I can think of is:

1) People who don’t care about politic and just wan status quo
2) People who are afraid they will be punished if they vote against PAP.

If you look carefully, I think the only GRC who increased in favor of PAP is AMK under PM Lee.

Note AMK neighbours, Pasir Ris-Pungol and Aljunied carved some territories to AMK resulting AMK PAP’s vote went up and PRP and A both dropped resulting a loss in Aljunied.

I wonder is this deliberate?

As the Gen-Sec of the ruling party I am sure PM will want to do better then his last election so did the redrawing of GRC purposely scarify George and hurt Teo CH a little (He know he is still ok as the area has history of challenge by screwed up party).

Nevertheless, GE 2011 has made history with the most number of elected opposition in parliament. I do hope that the politic in Singapore will mature and bring healthy debates into the parliament and make this unique country a nice place to live in.

We shall see how the new MPs performance in the next 5 years.

What to do on cooling off day.

Cooling off day which is on 06 May is a day when all campaigning and election advertising are disallowed .

This is to, I quote from the Election Department,

“let voters reflect rationallyon various issues raised at an election before going to the polls”

In another words, after days of rallies when emotion ran high, this day is for you to think about the threats by the PAP and hopefully makes you so frighten to vote for the opposition and you will vote for the MIW.

Only political broadcast will be allow this day and there is no prize for guessing who will get the most airtime.

In fact, I think all news and newspaper will be spreading messages for a certain party and there I shall skipped all this on the cooling off day.

So what I suggest you to do this coming Friday is to boycott all the newspaper and television. (You need to be cooled you know).

Instead use the new media.

Go to the website of all parties and see for yourself what are the trying to tell you.

Go to watch speeches by all parties at the rallies, judge for yourself how good or bad or how convinced you are by them. I suggest you watch Teo Ser Luck 1st rally for a good laugh.

So my fellow Singaporean.

Vote with you head and mind and have the courage to do the right thing.

You see that PAP is frighten…I meant really frighten.

They are again treating Singapore as a stupid child. And the headlines are more or less the same.

First they threaten us.

Telling us if we vote for the opposition. It’s the end of the world.

Then they go on praising themselves on what they have done for us in the last 50years.

After that they start to discredit the opposition even resolved to personnel attacks.

Suddenly they start to cry and share with us their sob stories.

Then they again tell us how important they are and they are not irreplaceable and if George losses it will be the end of the world, again.

Suddenly they start to throw in more goodies for Singaporean.

And finally, PM start to apologies.

Geez… this is like some Taiwan soap opera man and frankly I am sick and tired of all these PAP threats.

“If you go into a dark room, and you see what looks like a snake, you will come out of the room. All you do is switch the light on, and then you realize it’s not a snake, but a coil of rope. The PAP’s threats are like a coil of rope.

They are terribly frightened that you will put the lights on – the lights in your heart and in your head, and then you will see that those threats are harmless, and will be harmless after the 7th of May.”

PAP's Tin Pei Ling helps MacPherson residents cope with rising prices

SINGAPORE - Merchants and hawkers in MacPherson will keep prices stable for the next six months, according to People's Action Party (PAP) candidate Tin Pei Ling.

Ms Tin, a member of the Marine Parade Group Representation Constituency (GRC) team for the General Election, announced this while speaking to reporters after visiting a hawker centre at Aljunied Crescent yesterday.

The PAP team members spoke with residents and stall owners together.

Ms Tin said she had spoken to the MacPherson's Merchants Association on the matter, and added that she hoped the move would help residents cope with the rising cost of living.

When asked for her response to those who feel she is the single factor that could drag votes down for the entire team, Ms Tin said the election is being fought as a team.

"We should let the voters decide the outcome," she said.

Over the past few weeks, videos posted online of Ms Tin have stirred controversy.


Jeanette Aruldoss quote a stall holder in Old Airport Road compliant that that NEA raised his stall rent by 35% so how too keep price stable as per Tin Pei Ling promised to the resident.

Yesterday report ask Tin Pei Ling and the answer from her is Old Airport Road Hawker center not under MacPherson.

PM Lee: No by-election if PAP loses a GRC

IF A GRC is lost at the May 7 General Election - and a Minister along with it - Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong does not plan to call a by-election to try and get him elected and back into government, he told the Lianhe Zaobao Chinese daily.

'Elections are a serious thing,' he said in an interview published on Tuesday 'The voters have decided, and we will accept the voters' decision.'

He added that voters, too, would have to live with the consequences of their choice to turf a Minister out.

'There are no safety nets in real life. So it's best not to take the risk.'



Personally I won’t mind dropping a few Ministers.

They are dead woods.

I wonder what will PM think if he himself lost his AMK GRC?

Also I am sick of these PAP people tell us Election is important, we must vote carefully, think of the future, look at past track record…etc etc,

The old man has spoken again preaching that he knows more then any of you out there and he is the way to great prosperity and progress for our nation.

And as usual he is playing the fear card.

Talking rubbish? So only if PAP must stay in power else our assets are will suddenly become worthless, our property price will crashed and suddenly we will be jobless and our women will be maid in another county. Hmm …. Sound familiar.

PAP is not Singapore. PAP is only a political party in Singapore who are given the opportunity to form the government by the people of Singapore.

Major flaw here.

So where to stay after five years when you have that significant premium? You can’t downgrade unless you buy if from the open market or you have to upgrade to private housing. So all your “premium” are gone and you are further enslaved in this country to pay your housing loan. For GOD’s sake just price the bloody HDB flats at a cheaper rate!

I will certainly do that but I can’t find this person from the PAP yet.

He is despicable to have sunk so low as using this kind of back end smear tactic against his political opponent.

To me his action has back fired. His behaviour has shown us what PAP Minister is made of.

He has no balls to accept an open debate with the SDP where he can asked SDP straight in the face regarding Vincent Wijeysingha stand on gay cause. In fact he didn’t even have the balls to say what he wanted to say.

This little episode shows that PAP has no style, does not treat opposition parties with respect and will not hesitate to use dirty tactic just to win. So how do you think they will treat Singaporean?

In their eyes it is for them or against them.

Fear from the PAP camp

I was watching the news over the long weekend and Singapore GE 2011 was indeed the top news at the moment.

I couldn’t help sensing some fear from the PAP camp.

Probably because this year the Oppositions are fielding more credible candidates and also because PAP know they had screwed up for the pass 5 years.

Its not easy to know where are the PAP weak links are, they are given lots of air times on national TV.

Almost everyday I see Mah Bow Tan, Wong Kan Seng and Goh Chock Tong’s face on TV and suddenly Vivian Balakrishnan and Liu Tuck Yew join in the parties via the internet.

Crunch time is coming on 07 May and it’s quite interesting to see these people blabber nonsense to defend themselves.

In fact I find the more they say the more they are discrediting themselves.

Mah Bow Tan statement of HDB pricing is both defensive and proved that he don’t know what the hell he was doing.

Wong Kan Seng said he took responsibility for Mas Selamat escape was a joke of the year.

Vivian has to sink so low to personnel attacked and brushed aside his YOG screwed up.

Liu Tuck Yew is famous now on facebook for being too proud to listen during his walkabout.

Its funny to hear the Lee Kuan Yew himself who said the result of the pass election got the country to where it is today.

I think I have to agree with him on this point.

Today our country is overwhelmed by cheap foreigners, public housing price is all time high, cost of living is getting unbearable, we are paying GST from 5 – 7%, we have the world most expensive cabinets who have no gut to take account in their mistakes, we got a government who are so proud that they are refusing to listen to the people and call us “stupid” and “lessor mortal”, a GIC that is screwing with our money, many town councils that are screwing with our money, public transport system that is like shit, health care are only for the rich as public health care is like from the 3rd world…….etc etc…

Vote wisely my fellow Singaporean.

Labour candidates criticise opposition

TWO new People's Action Party (PAP) candidates from the labour movement on Wednesday criticised opposition parties for introducing candidates only now, after the announcement of Nomination Day, and for using the elections as training ground for young suicide squads they are sending to GRCs helmed by senior ministers.

NTUC assistant secretary-general and PAP candidate for Aljunied GRC Ong Ye Kung said Singaporeans will have less time to get to know opposition candidates, as a result. By contrast, the PAP introduced its new faces earlier and let the public 'scrutinise us upside down', he said.

Mr Ang Hin Kee, chairman of NTUC's Employment and Employability Institute and a PAP candidate for Ang Mo Kio GRC, responded to a Singapore People's Party idea to send a suicide squad to Ang Mo Kio GRC, to take on a PAP team helmed by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Mr Ang said the opposition should consider if their aim in contesting was to serve residents or to use Ang Mo Kio as a training ground.

He added that response to the PAP manifesto has been good as residents are happy that the PAP wants to build a future for their children.

I was waiting for the PAP newbies to talk rubbish and presto. These two started the ball rolling after Tin Pei Ling.

Firstly there is seriously wrong with the Union being so close to PAP. Union represent the Singapore workers and their leader work for PAP?

Does not make sense at all. What about conflict of interest my friends?

This 2 parrots are saying that the opposition should name their candidates sooner so the PAP can “scrutinise them upside down”.

It is still a week to nomination day and so what when PAP introduced their candidates earlier? Many people still don’t know who the hell are these newbies and what have they done to make them the special one.

Think Tin Pei Ling is the most famous among the PAP newbies. The rest does not ring a bell to me.

In fact we don’t even know much about some of the existing PAP MPs nor what have they contributed to our nation.

I only know who is Ex Ang Mo Kio’s MP Wee Siew Kim after his famous Elite daughter Wee Shu Min incident.

Christopher De Souza? Hawazi Dapi? Heng Chee How? Hri Kuma Nair? Lam Pin Min? Ong Ah Heng? Zaqy Mohamad?

Who the hell are these people?

These 2 jokers even criticised the opposition for sending “young suicide squads” to GRC helm by Senior Ministers.

So? What is wrong with this?

If the people decided they prefer Sweet Young Things then some Old Farts to represent them in parliament then who are you to say anything? You two have not even win a single vote yet and already you talk like a MP.

Moreover some of these GRC are not tested and until recently we only know only 66% of the people in Ang Mo Kio love the Secretary General of PAP.

Singaporean deserve to have the right to vote and for this I have to thanks all Opposition parties.

PAP candidate first to collect nomination papers

FORMER army chief Chan Chun Sing, 42, who is expected to be fielded in the People's Action Party's Tanjong Pagar GRC team, was the first candidate to pick up the nomination papers at the Elections Department on Prinsep Street on Wednesday morning.

He also collected a CD containing the eligible voters in the GRC, which is helmed by Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. The other PAP candidates are likely to be Ms Indranee Rajah, Mr Baey Yam Keng and Dr Lily Neo.

Major-General (NS) Chan told reporters later: 'We just have to fill up the forms. I didn't know I would be the first... I didn't want to squeeze with the lunch crowd.'

The second earlybird to turn up at the Elections Department was Mr Abdul Rasheed Abdul Kuthus from the National Solidarity Party . He was there to collect the application forms for the certificate for Malay, Indian and other minority communities candidates.

Shortly after, NSP campaign manager Tan Chee Kien arrived and picked up what looked to be 10 GRC and 10 single-member constituency forms. He was followed by another NSP member Noraini Yunus.

All candidates must submit their applications to contest the May 7 General Election by 1 pm on Saturday, April 23, ahead of Nomination Day on April 27



This is interesting.

Look like MG(NS) Chan is quite free as he is jobless now since he retirement so he has all the time to run errant for his boss.

Being the newest member of Tajong Pagar GRC, I guess he is being tasked to collect the nomination papers for them. Well you can’t expect the emperor to collect the paper himself right?

Er… I didn’t know the Elections Department too will be crowded with “lunch crowd” according to MG(NS) Chan.

The only places that always full with lunch time crowd are at the eateries, banks or poly clinics. Either Singaporean always visit the Election Department for God’s know what reason or MG(NS) Chan has lost touch with Singaporean since he been eating at Officer’s Canteen for the past 20 years.

The WP has expressed interest to stand in the GRC again in the coming election and is likely to field a strong team, helmed by its chairman Sylvia Lim and included its star candidate, corporate lawyer Chen Show Mao.

Dr Chen has degrees from Harvard, Oxford and Stanford.

Mr Yeo acknowledged that Dr Chen has good credentials but would like to know more about him.

"I think it's important that we hear more from him and have a sense of how much he feels for the people of Singapore and what his views are. I think it's a very interesting CV," he said.

George Yeo was one of a few people in PAP that I quite like. But I thinkg his comment above is a little bit of a cheap shot.

But this is opening up a big can of worms.

Look at PAP’s own camp.

Janil Puthucheary, came to Singapore in 2001 only became a Singaporean in 2008 after being spotted by PAP. I question his motive.

Foo Mee Har living in Singapore since 1989 and only became a Singaporean in 2010. I too question her motive.

PS: Its difficult to find out the true date when these PAP newbies became Singaporean as the data has mysterious disappeared from the new PAP website.

And last but not least. Look at Tin Pei Ling credential.

Gosh it’s a joke. The most attractive part about her CV is her marriage.

I also think it's important that we hear more from them and have a sense of how much they feel for the people of Singapore and what their views are. I think it's a very interesting CV too.
